Biochemistry to Become Prerequisite  November 27th, 2012

Beginning with students applying to enter the Pharm.D. program in Fall 2014 (i.e. students applying next year), completion of an upper-division biochemistry sequence will be a required prerequisite for entry into the Pharm.D. program.

There are two main reasons for this change:

  • Ensuring that students have all necessary prerequisite science knowledge before the Pharm.D. program begins
  • Providing more room in the Pharm.D. curriculum to discuss new, current, and challenging issues in the pharmacy profession

Thus, this change should result in better career preparation for our graduates.

If you have questions about the best way to meet this prerequisite at your school, contact an advisor at pharmacy@oregonstate.edu.
