{"id":86,"date":"2018-11-25T19:55:29","date_gmt":"2018-11-25T19:55:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/waccascades\/?p=86"},"modified":"2018-11-25T19:55:29","modified_gmt":"2018-11-25T19:55:29","slug":"we-are-doing-a-good-thing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.blogs.oregonstate.edu\/waccascades\/2018\/11\/25\/we-are-doing-a-good-thing\/","title":{"rendered":"We are doing a good thing!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Colleagues,<\/p>\n<p>In my research this weekend, I came across a newish book (2017) published in the National Council of Teachers of English &#8220;Studies in Writing and Rhetoric&#8221; series called\u00a0<em>Reframing the Relational: A Pedagogical Ethic for Cross-Curricular Literacy Work.\u00a0<\/em>The central claim of the book is that a pedagogical approach to faculty interactions in Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) and Writing in the Disciplines (WID) contexts can enhance cross-disciplinary communication and collaboration and ultimately lead to more productive, sustainable initiatives overall (not just in writing!). I will definitely be getting my hands on this book in the near future and will share any insights with the group that seem relevant to our efforts.
