The Veterans Dependent Tuition Program may now be used by eligible students for online courses and on campus courses offered by OSU, OSU-Cascades, and OSU Ecampus.

Traditionally this benefit was for courses taken on campus only.

The Veterans Dependent Tuition Program provides Oregon residents a full tuition waiver (not fees) for a bachelor’s or master’s degree for a child or spouse of a member of the United States Armed Forces who either died in active duty, became 100% disabled in connection with military service, or died as a result of a disability sustained in active duty. Or the student must be a child (including adopted child or stepchild) of a Purple Heart recipient, alive or deceased, who was relieved or discharged from service in the Armed Forces of the United States with either an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions and was awarded the Purple Heart in 2001 or thereafter for wounds received in combat.

The benefit still does not apply to study abroad programs.

We plan to have scholars, veterans, counselors, activists, and others involved, and this is likely to be covered by the media as well. We did one of these OSU-OPB collaborative town halls in Corvallis in February and it reached tens of thousands via radio and had a terrific audience and impact.

The veteran community down at UC Berkeley would like to offer our student veterans and veteran alumni the opportunity to join them in their veterans appreciation game as the Beavers take on the Bears down there on the 14th.

If you are interested in getting tickets please email veteranresources@oregonstate.edu by November 10th and let me know how many tickets you would like so I can get them a total.

More information to follow.

Time is running short to get your application in.

New due date to apply is 11/12/15. The award for this years scholarship will be for winter and spring terms.

The Grateful Nation Scholarship will be awarded to a female OSU undergraduate or graduate student (or a Degree Partnership undergraduate) who has served in one of the armed branches of the U.S. military since September 10, 2001. See Application for additional qualifications and how to apply.
