If you are a Veteran and looking for a career in the financial world, here are some companies to explore.
American Corporate Partners (ACP)
ACP connects Vets with a mentor in their target industry for one year and offers a free online community of experts to answer most questions related to transition and some benefits. The program is free and the online application is relatively straight forward.
You can find ACP here: http://acp-usa.org/ .
Wall Street Warfighters Foundation (WSWF)
WSWF offers a cost-free (to Veteran), total immersion, 6-month prep experience for Vets interested in a career in finance. WSWF accepts applications year-round and offers both an on-site program in Philadelphia, PA, and an evolving distance option that achieves the same outcomes. You can find WSWF here: http://www.wallstreetwarfighters.org/web/.
Goldman Sachs – Veteran Integration Program (VIP)
Goldman Sachs accepts applications for its highly-competitive Veteran diversity initiative – Veteran Integration Program – or (VIP) each spring. You can find GS’ VIP program here: http://www.goldmansachs.com/careers/experienced.
JP Morgan – Veteran Internship Program (VIP)
JP Morgan accepts applications for its highly-competitive Veteran diversity initiative – Veteran Internship Program – or (VIP) each summer. Selection criteria are more stringent than other programs, so visit their site for details: http://careers.jpmorgan.com/student/jpmorgan/ca.
NYSE Euronext Veteran Associate Program (VAP)
NYSE Euronext accepts applications for its highly-competitive Veteran diversity initiative – Veteran Associate Program – or (VAP) each spring. VAP participants serve in various financial roles at major financial centers in NYC (NYSE) and Chicago (CBOE). NYSE Euronext has not published information for a 2014 class as of yet, but I’d expect info & application season to open by April for summer interns. Visit their site periodically for updates: http://www.nyx.com/who-we-are/advocacy/veterans.
