Summer classes are smaller and the campus atmosphere is more relaxed during summer. You\u2019re most likely only taking 1 or 2 classes. Take advantage of that. Here are 10 more helpful tips as you enjoy studying in the sunshine throughout the summer.<\/p>\n

  1. Get organized: schedule study times and study breaks.<\/li>\n
  2. Incorporate 20-30 minutes of physical exercise into your study break. Stick to it. Hint: Dixon is open for summer session students and it\u2019s not packed!<\/li>\n
  3. Plan study times right after class. Retaining information happens best here.<\/li>\n
  4. Be honest with yourself about studying. Don\u2019t plan to study at 9 p.m. if your favorite show is on TV.<\/li>\n
  5. When you schedule a study time, stick to it. Consistency is related to academic success.<\/li>\n
  6. Focus on information you’re not retaining.\u00a0Try reciting it out loud, or rewriting it from memory after reading.<\/li>\n
  7. Study individually until you get a grasp on material, THEN study with others.<\/li>\n
  8. Ask questions. Seriously. That\u2019s what your professors are there for. You are learning. You\u2019re not expected to understand it all right away.<\/li>\n
  9. Use professor\u2019s office hours throughout the entire session, not just right before a test.<\/li>\n
  10. Make every point count. Review assignments 2-3 times before submitting them. This can be the difference between an \u2018A\u2019 and a \u2018B\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
