TEAMS Program for Pre-service Teachers Details
- TEAMS (Teachers Educating All Multilingual Students) is a program funded by a U.S. Department of Education federal grant.
- We support pre-service teachers in obtaining their ESOL endorsement or Dual Language Specialization.
- Take advantage of this unique opportunity! Earn a Dual Language Specialization or ESOL endorsement with tuition paid by grant funds.
- Grant funds cover tuition cost for three ESOL/DL courses.
- Grant funds cover the cost for the Official American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Oral Proficiency Assessment and/or the National Education Service ESOL exam.
Course sequence
Students in the Education Double Degree program earning their ESOL Endorsement and/or their Dual Language Specialization are eligible to apply for the TEAMS grant. Dual Language candidates must be fluent in Spanish.

TEAMS Grant funds cover tuition costs for three Dual Language Specialization courses or three ESOL Endorsement courses.
- The Dual Language courses paid by TEAMS are the following:
- ED 471 Multilingual Linguistics
- ED 470 Biliteracy Instruction
- ED 410 Internship
- The ESOL Endorsement courses paid by TEAMS are the following:
- ED 410 Internship/practicum
- Two other ESOL endorsement courses
Application Deadline
Apply by December 18, 2019 (Priority deadline) or February 1, 2020 (Final deadline).
