  • College of Education Scholarship Applications: Due Sunday, March 1, 2015.  http://oregonstate.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_9KSmPXmYzj118jz If you plan to be admitted to the Professional Level/Student Teaching Cohort next year, you are eligible to apply for these scholarships.
  • Spring Term Registration:  Phase 1 begins Sunday, February 22.  If you plan to take TCE 472 or TCE 479, register early.  These classes fill-up quickly!  Always read the comment section to determine if you are registering for the correct section.  The comments mention whether the section is for Elementary or Middle/Secondary educators.  Please feel free to make an appointment with Karla to discuss your upcoming term schedules.  Call 541-737-4661 to make an appointment.  If you wish to register for TCE 309, you must complete a background check form, intake survey, and pay $5 cash/check for processing fee.
  • Workshop on Field Journals and Science Notebooks: Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 9am-3pm.  The workshop will use literature and art as inspiration to connect students to our local forests, explore science in the outdoors, and utilize hand-on activities with journaling .  $25 includes lunch and supplies.   • Professional Level/Student Teaching Cohort 2015-2016 Applications Due April 1, 2015:  http://oregonstate.qualtrics.com/SE/SID=SV_38Y552E6GA1CAQJ     Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to complete the application.  Unfortunately, once you begin the application, you can’t save the information and return to it at a later time.  You will need to have the following information ready to upload in order to complete the application:
  1. Basic Skills Score Report
  2. Civil Rights Exam Score Report
  3. Subject Area Exam Score Report (if you have taken)
  4. Current Resume
  5. Professional Goals Statement (1-2 pages explaining why you have decided to become a teacher)
  6. Letter of 60 Hours Classroom Volunteer Work Verification (if you have not taken TCE 309 or TCE 409)
  7. Updated and typed Content Mastery form
  8. Unofficial Transcripts from all institutions that you have attended.
  9. Two letters of recommendation ( 1 additional if you are using the verification letter from TCE 309/409)
  • The 2015 Oregon Professional Educator Fair April 7-8, 2015 at the Oregon Convention Center. Registration is required at https://www.oregonedfair.com/  There will be a number of school districts interviewing teacher candidates!
  • Beaverton School District Interviews at OSU on Tuesday, May 5.  You must apply to their open positions at the Oregon Professional Educator Fair or through their website to be invited to participate in these interviews.

  • Digital Literacy & Culture This course can be used to meet the 3.6 Standard/Outcome on Content Mastery form for Language Arts Teachers.  WR 497/597 MWF 1-1:50 PM.
  • TCE 472/572 will hold two sessions spring term.  Thursdays from 12-1:50 PM or Fridays 3-4:50 PM.
  • TCE 476/576 will be offered Fridays from 3-4:50 PM.  This course is required for an ESOL endorsement after you have taken TCE 472 and is not built in to the Professional Level/Student Teaching Cohort schedule.
  • TCE 479/579 will be offered Fridays from 1-2:50 PM
