Solve Pest Problems is a collaborative effort communicating evidence-based information describing pest management and pesticide related topics. Funders and community partners participate in the development of content and help with marketing, outreach, and evaluation. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to this effort.
The Solve Pest Problems team needs your support
Beginning July 2019 we will enter the next project phase aiming at assembling hundreds of content pages while advancing our marketing and evaluation tools. If successful, Solve Pest Problems will be publicly available in December 2020.
Projected content development costs
The projected cost to create approximately 600 pages in both English and Spanish is about $3,000,000. Each page is roughly $5,000 to research, write, procure images, content edit, and copy edit while ensuring up to date, accurate information presented in accessible, plain language.
Fundraising goal for 2019
OSU is providing base, long-term funding for the program. However, the Solve Pest Problems team is asking for $100,000 of donations in 2019, resulting in an additional 20 pages of content. Additionally, we are aiming at $200,000 resulting in 40 additional pages created by the website launch in December 2020.
