2D An Introduction to Permaculture
Permaculture is a design system, based in nature, that can be applied to develop sustainable human settlements. This whole systems approach is used to design integrated landscapes that provide ecological functions and yields for humans. We can enhance habitat for other species, heal the earth’s systems, and cultivate to meet human needs by applying permaculture design on a given site in appropriate ways. In this interactive discussion, Marisha Auerbach will introduce participants to the permaculture concept and how it can be applied in their lives.

4D An Introduction to Seed Saving on Small-Scale Production Farms
In this introductory session to seed saving, we will broadly cover the how to’s to seed saving from crop choice, pollination needs, to cleaning and storage. We will then dive into the practical ways in which small-scale production farms can integrate seed saving practices into their growing practices, crop plans, and sales. The workshop combines lecture and hands-on work, with a field walk to discuss farm layout, isolation distances, pollination, and shifting growing practices.
