3C What Do I Do With My Small Farm?
This session will introduce the many factors involved in making decisions related to the use of small-farm property. We will discuss the small farm as a hobby, an agricultural tax deferral, and a family income. We will introduce how to match crop choices to the farm’s physical resources, such as soil type, irrigation potential, and climate, and how to choose a production technique, select traditional or specialty crops, and market crops. We will discuss the importance of considering the family’s financial resources, credit options, strengths, and goals. Includes lists of additional resources.

4C Intro to Dry Farming Organic Vegetables
Learn about the techniques that support dry farming organic vegetables in the maritime Pacific Northwest, some results from multiple on-farm trials and how to get involved with the Dry Farming Collaborative.

6C/D Class Full On-farm Vet Care
This three-hour morning class will focus on animal husbandry, health and body condition evaluation, oral medication, hoof care, vaccination/injection techniques, parasite control and emergency management. Demonstrations may include goats and sheep. Includes both classroom and hands-on in the field components.

7C/D Tractor Safety and Operation
This three-hour class will focus on the correct and safe methods of tractor operation and implement use. Includes both classroom and hands-on in the field components. Students will operate equipment.
This is a double-session you will not register for a Session D class. This is an off-site class and will be held outdoors. Transportation will be provided, vans depart at 1:00 pm. DRESS FOR THE WEATHER.
