** Maintenance Announcement – VM Management interruption expected, no other interruptions anticipated **
The server hosting vCenter will be rebooted at 10pm on 5/26/2015. This will take about 10 to 15 minutes before all services are up and running again. The vSphere web client will not be available until this is complete. This will only affect management of VMs via vCenter. All VMs will continue to function normally and we do not expect any impact beyond vCenter Management actions.

We will be moving the last of the capacity lefthand nodes to its new home. All volumes on the capacity lefthand are network raid5 or 10. So we do not anticipate any service interruption. We will also be removing the two kerr switches as they will no longer be of use.

We will be moving 3 of the capacity lefthand nodes to their new home. All volumes on the capacity lefthand are network raid5 or 10. We will only move 1 node at a time, wait for it to sync up, then continue.
We do not anticipate any service interruption. Our switching is redundant, we will only change the switches one at a time, and the changes should not be service interrupting.

We will be cleaning up old storage systems from our lefthand cluster. The VIP of the outbound cluster will be added to another cluster to maintain continuity of older clients using the VIP to connect into their mount points. This maintenance event should have no impact to customers.

We will be performing diagnostic maintenance on one of our two capacity controllers this will involve failing a controller. This should not impact running VMs or services.

We will be performing two unrelated maintenance items during this window.
A) We will be reconfiguring physical links on our lefthand iscsi network (dropping a 8x 1gig lag merging switches in favor of a single 10gig link).
B) Reboot of capacity controller 1 to resolve ssh server bug. All traffic will be handled by controller 2 during the reboot.
Both of these maintenance events should have no impact to customers.

We are replacing a failing motherboard in one of the redundant capacity controllers from 10am-2pm Monday March 30th. This should not impact running VMs or services.

We will be migrating our existing VM hosts to a new vCenter server from 10am-10pm Saturday February 7th. This will not impact running VMs nor your ability to RDP or SSH into the VM.
During the maintenance both the current and new vCenters will be active in the event you need to manage a VM (console, power on/off, etc). However, you will need to check both as the VM may have moved. The URLs for the vCenters during the maintenance are listed below. At the conclusion of the maintenance the active URL of the new vCenter will be the same as the current vCenter.
