To avoid bicycle to car accidents, there are many safety precautions that a bicyclist can take. What safety precautions can an individual take to prevent bicycle accident injuries?

The National Association of Women in Construction has two scholarships available.

Undergraduate Scholarship

Eligibility: 

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled in a construction-related degree program at a school in the United Sates and must have a least one term remaining in a course of study leading to a degree or an associate degree in a construction-related field. High school seniors are not eligible.
  • Applicant must desire a career in a construction-related field.
  • Applicant must be enrolled full-time.
  • Applicant must have a current cumulative GPA or 3.0 or higher to be considered for awards.

 

Construction Trades Scholarship 

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled in a construction-related training program which is approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship Training, community college, technical school or equivalent.
  • Applicant must be obtaining training in a construction-related craft or trade.

The Oregon Concrete & Aggregate Producers Association (OCAPA) educational fund sponsors scholarships for deserving students pursuing a career related to the construction materials industry.  Areas of study may include, but are not limited to: construction materials, engineering, geology, architecture, land use planning, biology, environmental law and fish & wildlife studies.

  • Open to Junior, Senior or Graduate Students enrolled at an Oregon University or College.

The Pacific Forest Foundation (PFF) scholarship program is offered to students who are studying in forestry related areas. PFF will accept applications starting on January of each year. The applications must be received in the PFF office no later than May 1st of the same year. The PFF plans to awards 5 to 10 scholarships annually; scholarships ranges from $1,000 to $3,000 each.

  • Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Welding

Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund, and is funded by donations, variety show proceeds, and community fundraisers.

Eligibility:

  • Student must be pursuing post-secondary, undergraduate education in an accredited institution or program during the coming school year
  • Student identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or have a LGBT parent
  • Student must have resided for at least one year in the state of Oregon or in Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania, or Wahkiakum County in Washington
