Scan Café Scholarship- $750

ScanCafe Scholarship will provide financial assistance to one student this year who demonstrates knowledge, passion, and a promising future in photo curation, preservation and photo scanning. The scholarship will be awarded to the student whose essay best demonstrates these qualities. Students who would like to apply  should write an essay of approximately 1000 – 1,500 words on one or more of the topics below:

  • Photo preservation: an existential need.
  • Photo Scanning: an art or an industrial process?
  • Transforming physical photo into digital bit: a curse or a blessing?
  • Will a machine ever really understand a photo?
  • Photo Narration of the past and the present

Eligibility:

  • Must have a high school diploma at time of application.

  • Must be an undergraduate student at a national accredited degree granting institution working
    towards a Bachelors degree in Fine Art, Art History, or Museum Studies
  • Must be a student in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Must be an American Citizen (with an American passport) or a legal resident (with a green card) of the United States. Scholarship finalists will be asked to submit their social security numbers.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time of entry

Farm Bureau Scholarships

Clackamas County Farm Bureau is proud to announce its 2017 scholarship program. Scholarships are available to any Clackamas County high school graduate, current county resident, or prior recipient pursuing a career in agriculture or a related field at a two- or four-year institution of higher learning. Scholarships will be awarded between $500 and $3,000 per recipient. A total of $15,000 will be awarded this year. “Farm Bureau is proud to support Oregon students interested in agriculture,” said Tom Winterrowd, scholarship coordinator for Clackamas County Farm Bureau. “Today’s students are the future of Oregon’s family farming and ranching community.”

LGBT Liberation Scholarship Program

The LGBT Rights Scholarship provided by Simpli Pleasure honors students courage in the face of adversity and discrimination by awarding $1,000 – $1,500 individual grants to LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and ally) activists who have transformed their experiences with bigotry and discrimination into opportunities to inspire others by taking action, rallying support, building community, and working to change the systems and institutions that impact their lives.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant shall be at least 18 years of age and be accepted to and/or attending a full-time higher education program at an accredited institution of learning.
  • Applicant must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA based on the previous year’s academic performance.
  • The winning applicant will be mailed a W9 tax form that must be completed. Upon return of the W9 form, the scholarship winner will be mailed a check. Any taxes incurred from the award are fully the responsibility of the winning candidate
