Albertson & Davidson Scholarship

With advancements in medicine, there are more elderly Americans in the year of 2017. Unfortunately, as many as 5 million Americans over the age of 60 are victims of elder abuse each year. According to the Nursing Home Abuse Center, only 1 out of every 14 incidents of elder abuse are reported to local or state authorities. Based on your research, create an infographic to help the public better understand this silent epidemic.

Crotty Saland Equal Justice Scholarship- $1,000

A 750-word original essay that explains how the student intends to champion the cause of equal access to justice for all, with a specific focus on low-income and underrepresented individuals.

Eligibility:

  • Presently enrolled in a duly accredited junior college, community college, undergraduate or graduate institution located within the United States. Also, eligible for consideration are GED holders and high school graduates whose college-level studies are just about to begin.
  • Especially attractive candidates are those who have the ability to effectively and eloquently communicate their personal commitment to facilitating greater access to justice for low-income, minority or other under-served populations.
  • Provide evidence of good academic standing from their present institution, which for the purposes of this award, consists of a minimum cumulative GPA of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Detailed cover sheet
  • An up-to-date resume, current contact information and a clear statement of present educational program level and student status
  • Latest academic transcript issued by the applicant’s present institution (unofficial versions will be accepted); freshman-level students may submit unofficial transcripts from their most recent institution together with any documentation available from their current school

Eligibility:

  • Scholarship applicants must be currently enrolled in or admitted to a nursing degree program approved by a state board of nursing and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education at a school eligible to participate in the Federal student financial assistance programs administered by the U.S. Department of Education under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 as amended.

Money Metals Exchange Scholarship Program

 Essays should be roughly 1,000 words in length and should answer ONE of the following questions:

  1. How has the Federal Reserve System helped or hurt the American economy?
  2. Most economists, even those who support private property and free markets, think that money (or monetary services, or money and banking, etc.) is a special good that must be produced and controlled by the government. Do you agree or disagree, and why?
  3. How do you think the free market would handle money, if there were no government intervention of any kind?
  4. How could America best return to a gold or bi-metallic standard?

Eligibility:

  • Provide proof of current attendance at a high school, college, or university (by submitting, for example, a transcript) and upload their current resume and their essay
  • Open to high school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students with an interest in economics, specifically the tradition of the Austrian school. You DO NOT have to be an economics major to be eligible to receive this scholarship.

Veterans and Military Family Scholarship- $1,000

  • How has being in the military affected your ability to pursue an education?
  • What do you wish the American people better understood about military service or military families?
  • What sacrifices have you and/or your family made because of military service?
  • When you reflect on your/your family member’s military service, what are you most proud of and what are you most grateful for?

Eligibility:

  • Currently serving in the military, honorably discharged, or have an active duty or retired military spouse or parent. All branches of the U.S. military qualify:
  • U.S. Army and Reserves
  • U.S. Navy and Reserves

  • U.S. Marine Corps and Reserves
  • U.S. Coast Guard and Reserves

Eligibility:

  • Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • 15 hours of coursework taken (or registered for) in business related course work
  • Be enrolled full-time at a university or college offering a business degree during the award period.
