NGA Research and Education Foundation Scholarships

Through affiliate organizations (WGA and Asparagus Club) in addition to Foundation efforts, NGA’s Research and Education Foundation awards a number of annual scholarships for students planning a career in the grocery industry. The goal of the scholarship program is to enhance the future of the grocery industry by investing in the education of individuals who are pursuing a career in the industry.

Eligibility:

  • Minimum required GPA of 2.5
  • A one-page personal statement explaining your scholarship qualifications. Tell us about scholastic achievements, leadership awards, extracurricular activities, personal stories, as well as your intent to pursue a career in the independent sector of the grocery industry.
  • A letter of recommendation from a sponsor in the grocery industry or faculty member.
  • A college/university transcript (official or unofficial).

As a Class B general contractor, McMurray Stern is a comprehensive service provider with the ability to deliver turn-key workspace, custom shelving, lockers, racking and office storage solutions. In a brief narrative (500 words or more), please describe the most applicable and meaningful takeaways from your industrial engineering education so far. Ameri Care Scholarship- $1,000

According to the Department of Education’s website, by 2020 nearly two-thirds of available jobs in the U.S. will require a college degree. That is only a few years away! We understand that affording college these days can be difficult, so we are here to help with the financial stresses of your educational journey, and help you reach your career goals. Please write in no more than 500 words explaining how our scholarship and your current degree program will help you become successful and what that success will mean for you and/or your career goals.

Eligibility:

  • The Ameri Care Services Scholarship in Science is open to all full-time college students currently enrolled in an accredited public or private college or university.
  • Applicant must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • All bachelor and master’s degrees with majors and minors in Science are eligible such as Environmental Science, Environmental Policy and Management, Horticulture, or Environmental Studies.
  • Other science programs not listed will be considered and reviewed by our selection committee.
  • Applicant must be able to provide an official letter of acceptance or an unofficial college transcript to prove current full-time enrollment.

Wallowa County Agricultural Resource Foundation & Wallowa County Stockgrowers Association Probert-Boucher Memorial Scholarship

Wallowa County Agricultural Resource Foundation Stockgrowers Memorial Scholarship

Purpose:This scholarship is offered to encourage participation in the field of agriculture.  Funds for this scholarship include donations in memory and in honor of men and women who have contributed to the livestock industry in Wallowa County.

Eligibility:

  • To be considered, a student must be enrolled in a school of agriculture, school of forestry, or other natural resource related area of study beyond the high school level.
  • Applicants should be residents of Wallowa County and should have attended school in Wallowa County.
  • Both graduating high school seniors and students presently enrolled in post high school programs are eligible for consideration. (Preference given to applicants with at least college sophomore standing.)

Wallowa County Stockgrowers Association Probert-Boucher Memorial Scholarship

Purpose:This scholarship is offered to encourage participation in a field that is directly or indirectly related to agriculture (Examples: Home Economics, Mechanical Engineering,Business, Forestry, Ag. Sciences, etc.) Funds for this scholarship award have been donated by family and friends in memory of Helen Boucher and Jim & C Belle Probert. These individuals encouraged youth to strive for their goals and were known for their generosity in helping Wallowa County students reach their goals and pursue higher education in agriculture and other rural related studies.

Eligibility:

  • To be considered, a student must be enrolled in a school beyond the high school level.
  • Applicants should be residents of Wallowa County and should have attended school in Wallowa County.
  • Both graduating seniors and students presently enrolled in post high school programs are eligible for consideration.

A 500-word minimum essay explaining you or your family’s personal injury accident & how it changed your everyday outlook and possible future plans. Special preferences will be given to members of a family that has recently been injured in a car accident.

Eligibility:

  • This scholarship is available to high school seniors and current college students nationwide who plan on attending, or are attending, an accredited 4-year college/university or 2-year accredited community college in the Fall.
  • The applicant or the applicant’s family must have been involved in a personal injury accident.

Military Scholarship- $1,000

How has your military service better prepared you to enhance your education?

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be military active duty, honorably discharged, veteran, or a spouse from any branch of the military.
  • This contest is open only to those legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia
  •  Who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of application
  • Currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning (college, university, or trade school).

The Healthline Stronger Scholarship Program- $10,000

Healthline is proud to be awarding two $10,000 scholarships to students enrolled in graduate school for the Fall Semester. While we aim to educate on all things health and wellness, we have especially strong bonds with several health condition communities. Type 2 Diabetes affects almost 30 million people in the U.S. alone, and diabetes is growing at epidemic rates worldwide.
