Essay should address the following topics:

  • Explain how your interest in the field developed and describe your experiences in the field
  • Discuss a special attribute or accomplishment that sets you apart
  • Pick an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced your development
  • From a financial standpoint, what impact would this scholarship have on your education

Eligibility:

Two letters of recommendation from two of the following choices:

  • A member of the faculty of your school or college
  • A professional member of the horticultural field
  • A community leader
  • An employer or supervisor

Applicants must be an incoming freshman, sophomore, junior or senior enrolled full or part time into a course of study at a community college or university leading to a career in the horticultural industry.

A 3.0 or above GPA is required

OSURA Scholarship- $1000

The OSU Retirement Association (OSURA) provides scholarship support to undergraduate students at Oregon State University who are majoring in a subject that contributes to a career promoting healthy aging.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a currently enrolled OSU undergraduate.
  • Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or better.
  • Student must have completed at least one academic year at OSU and have at least one year of study yet to be completed towards their first bachelor’s degree.

Scholarship award between $750 and $1,500 per student.

Eligibility:

  • This scholarship opportunity is for full-time, female students of Oregon State who are enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Additionally, high school seniors who have applied to and been accepted at Oregon State are also eligible.

The Exact Data See the World Scholarship is a yearly, recurring, non-need-based award of $1,000 given to 1 student each year who wishes to travel outside the US — locations including Europe, Africa, Asia, or South America. The award will be sent via check. Preference will be given to students who will be active in work study or volunteer programs. Backpackers will be considered as well.
