Sharing Economy Essay Scholarship- $2,500

he Sharing Economy is a socioeconomic ecosystem built around the sharing of human and physical resources. It includes the shared creation, production, distribution, trade and consumption of goods and services by different people and organizations.

Award includes:

  • $2,000 to the student’s account
  • $500 to the student
  • $1,000 donated to the student’s business school
  • $150 donation to student’s favorite charity

Eligibility:

  • Student must be 18 or older at the time the application is submitted
  • Applicant must be enrolled in college at time of application and award (any level)
  • Must be a Business major or minor
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0

Schoenstein Sustaining Excellence Essay OSU Scholarship- $1,000

The OSU Alumni Association and the Department of Student Leadership & Involvement ‐ Center for Leadership Development are excited to accept nominations and applications for the Schoenstein Sustaining Excellence Scholarship. This fund was dedicated in order to provide scholarships for students in their sophomore, junior, or senior year who are actively involved with activities beyond class work, demonstrating they are well‐rounded, contributing members of the OSU community.

Eligibility:

  • Must be an Oregon State University student actively involved in contributing to the OSU community.

John Foy Strong Arm Leukemia Essay Scholarship- $1,000

Fighting a disease requires more than a legal “Strong Arm”-it requires a dedicated team of medical staff, loved ones and countless more. Fighting leukemia requires determination, drive and diligence in both the patient and the patient’s loved ones. Often, the battle is a solitary one, isolating the patient and family. The John Foy & Associates “Strong Arm” Leukemia Scholarship in time to honor Leukemia month in September. Our $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to one college student who has battled leukemia or whose life has been affected by it.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant or an applicant’s loved one has been affected by leukemia
  • Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate OR
  • Must be an incoming freshman at an accredited institution in the United States

Desk and Derrick Educational Trust Scholarships- $4,000

Eligibility:

  • Student must have completed two years of undergraduate study or be currently enrolled in their second year at an accredited college or university.
  • Applicant must maintain a GPA of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 grading system
  • The student must demonstrate need for financial assistance in pursuing a college degree.
  • Student must be a citizen of the United States OR Canada
  • Applicant must be planning a career in the petroleum, energy or allied industry, o research and development of alternative fuels such as coal, electric, solar, wind, hydroelectric, nuclear, and ethanol.

Buick Achievers STEM Scholarship-$25,000

If you have the passion to succeed – especially in fields of study related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) – the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is looking for you. This year, they will award 50 renewable scholarships of up to $25,000 per year.

Eligibility:

  • Student must be either a high school senior, high school graduate, or a current postsecondary undergraduate student.
  • Student must plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university based in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the entire 2016-17 academic year.
  • Applicant must plan to major in a specified course of study that focuses on Engineering, Technology, Design or other programs of study related to the automotive industry.  (List of eligible majors available at website).
  • Student must have an interest in pursuing a career in the automotive or related industries using these areas of study.
  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have permanent residence in the United States or Puerto Rico.
  • Student must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.

*NOTE: special consideration will be given to the following applicants: first generation college attendees, females, minorities, military veterans and dependents of military personnel.

Heckard Law Essay Scholarship- $2,500

Promoting education on elder issues goes hand-in-hand with renewed respect for our elders. With that goal in mind, Hackard Law is honored to provide a one-time, non-renewable scholarship of $2,500 to one college student who wins the Hackard Law 2016 Scholarship Essay Contest.
