Eating watermelon, examining alfalfa fields, certifying oats? Building a flume, holding a flower, finding some fruit? Must be another set of images from Extension Services! It\u2019s an amusingly mixed bag of shots that didn\u2019t link directly to a specific county set, so we\u2019ve culled them all together in a big set with a statewide focus.<\/p>\n

Full of what can only be called \u201cExtension magic,\u201d you\u2019ll find images of turkey<\/a> and beef <\/a>exhibits at the state fair, a corn show<\/a>, and people talking about tuna<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Apart from being full of fabulous photos, this set is also a gem historically. I love the demonstration trains and traveling instruction sessions, which allowed agents to visit communities throughout the state, teaching people skills in canning<\/a>, provide information about the cost of electricity<\/a>, give stump burning<\/a> and dairy demonstrations<\/a>, demonstrate poultry culling<\/a>, display the \u201cmobile kitchen<\/a>,\u201d or provide lectures on wool production and marketing<\/a>. There are also pictures of traditional \u201cbrick & mortar classes,\u201d such as flower identification<\/a> or \u201cFurnishing the Modern House<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n
