Oregon State University’s Special Collections and Archives Research Center is participating in a LSTA grant project to digitize the papers and photographs of naturalists William F. Finley, Herman T. Bohlman, and Irene Barnhart Finley.\u00a0 The intern will assist with various aspects of the project:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 enter metadata used to access the digitized manuscript files based on a data dictionary created by the Center for Digital Scholarship and Services in conjunction with Special Collections and Archives Research Center.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 ingest that content into Oregon Digital<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 refolder or take other steps to preserve the original materials appropriately<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 write a post about the project for the Special Collections & Archives Research Center\u2019s \u201cSpeaking of History\u201d blog.<\/span><\/p>\n

Required Qualifications: Course work or experience with applying metadata to archival collections<\/span><\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in a related field<\/span><\/p>\n

The intern will work an average of 12 hours a week, or 312 hours total, over a six month period of the project.\u00a0 Work hours will be scheduled Monday – Friday between 8 a.m. to 5 pm. at OSU’s Valley Library. Will require working on site in Corvallis, Oregon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hourly wage: $12.50 per hour.<\/span><\/p>\n
