Mallory Rahe joined the Rural Studies Program as an Extension Community Economist for Western Oregon in March 2009 and the department of Applied Economics as an Instructor. At the time she was completing a dissertation on rural prosperity. Rahe took a leave of absence to complete her field work in 4 rural Iowa counties and rejoined the Department in June 2013.
Mallory teaches a graduate course in Rural Development Economics and Policy and an undergraduate course in US Rural Society and Economy. She offers educational outreach and economic analysis to rural communities across the state.
This blog will feature posts on skill-building, current projects, and data analysis. It is one place to host a conversation around efforts to improve rural communities in Oregon.
