About the Wheel-A-Thon:
The Pre-Therapy & Allied Health club at Oregon State University hosts the Wheel-A-Thon in an effort to provide funding for the IMPACT and MS Exercise Program here on campus. These programs pair up students from Oregon State with children and adults with disabilities to participate in physical activity. The Wheel-A-Thon itself is an annual fundraiser that aims to raise awareness for individuals with disabilities within our community. It is a timed 10-minute obstacle course where teams of 4-8 participants maneuver through the course as fast as possible using wheelchairs. All proceeds go to directly fund these programs, with an overarching goal of helping individuals with disabilities overcome societal barriers they encounter in their daily lives.
About the Programs:
The MS Clinic connects community members diagnosed with MS with student volunteers twice a week to work on an individualized exercise program. The IMPACT program matches local children with disabilities with OSU students who interact and lead the children in a variety of activities once a week.
