Traveling Abroad in Fall 2018?

The Institute for Study Abroad (IFSA-Butler) is offering a $500 “Early Bird” travel grant for Fall 2018 programs! Essentially, IFSA is paying the first $500 in STA Travel airfare for students who apply early to their Fall 2018 programs. IFSA-Butler sponsors 18 programs to Australia, Chile, Ireland, New Zealand, and the UK.
IFSA does not require that students submit an additional application to access the travel grant funding. Rather, to be eligible, a student must complete their Fall 2018 IFSA program application (excluding campus approval) by 11:59pm, February 1, 2018 and then sign and submit their IFSA Student Acceptance Agreement before purchasing a flight via STA Travel. (Students complete the acceptance agreement after they get their official offer of program acceptance from IFSA.)
In addition to the travel grant, IFSA is offering guaranteed $2000 scholarships for all participants on the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 Public Health Policy and Practice in Shanghai program. Any Public Health students considering applying to this program are encouraged to apply before February so they can take advantage of $2500 in guaranteed funding from IFSA!
Please contact the OSU GO office at 541-737-3006 if you have questions.

2018 UCLA Public Health Scholars Training

The UCLA Public Health Scholars Training Program provides undergraduate students the opportunity to explore the field of public health through hands-on training, structured workshops, group excursions, and leadership and professional development. Scholars are placed at these partnering organizations throughout Los Angeles where they are exposed to the spectrum of public health practice and provided with professional mentors. To supplement field work, scholars attend workshops, develop leadership and professional skills, and receive mentoring from graduate students and faculty.

  • Cohort of 35 students participate in an 8-week in-residence summer training program (June 24- August 17, 2018) with follow-up activities into the fall.
  • Scholars are matched with partnering organizations, where the scholars contribute to public health work three days per week.
  • Scholars attend structured educational programming two days per week designed to build public health skills and learn about professional opportunities.
  • Scholars receive a $3000 stipend, housing, some on-campus meals, and a Metro pass.

For more information and to apply, visit: UCLA Public Health Scholars.
