OSU Day at the Capitol 2019
OSU Day at the Capitol 2019 is coming up on Wednesday, April 17, 2019! Student voices and a strong student presence are needed at the Salem Capitol to help tell lawmakers why it is important to invest in the next generation of Beaver Nation and in Oregon. Participants will be talking about important issues such as keeping OSU affordable and accessible to all Oregonians, the impact of the OSU Statewide Public Service Programs and encouraging legislators to invest in innovative new spaces on Corvallis and Bend campuses. Students can be provided with excusal from classes, transportation to the Capitol and lunch! Study Abroad Opportunity for Fall 2019
Looking ahead for opportunities this fall? Join two CPHHS faculty members on a unique faculty-led study abroad program in Taiwan and India during Fall 2019. Students will combine classroom learning with community based learning for a total of 16 upper division Bacc Core and internship credits. This program will offer students an opportunity to be directly engaged with communities to develop culturally sensitive, locally appropriate, sustainable, and technologically innovative solutions to meet the needs of communities. Join the CPHHS Team for the “Out of the Darkness” Walk
This year, the nationwide campaign “Out of the Darkness” will have its first walk at OSU to assist in suicide awareness and prevention. Students, staff, faculty and alumni in CPHHS are invited to join the College of Public Health and Human Sciences team in an effort to come together and support this cause. The goals of this event are to reduce stigma, educate on resources, support loss survivors, and raise money for local and national suicide prevention efforts. The walk will take place on Saturday, April 27th, 2019 from 11-1pm starting in the SEC Plaza (2251 Jefferson Way). Check-in and registration will begin at 10am. To register to walk on the day of the event, click “Join the CPHHS Team” and create a profile. To support this program financially, use the “Donate” button. All donations are tax deductible. Volunteer Opportunity with Walk MS Event
The Walk MS Salem event hosted by the National MS Society is looking for volunteers for their annual Walk MS event on Saturday, April 13th at Riverfront City Park in Salem, Oregon. This event has supported many individuals living with multiple sclerosis and research related to MS. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and food. Interested? Celebrating Undergraduate Excellence Showcase
Share your research or other scholarly work, gain presentation experience and add an extra skill to your résumé by participating in this annual showcase. Current undergraduates in all years of study, all academic disciplines and all stages of research or creative work are eligible to present. This event is sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Education and the Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and the Arts, and will take place on Tuesday, May 14, 9am-12pm in the MU Ballroom.

OSU Health Professions Fair 2019
The Health Professions Fair is a great way for students in all years and majors to learn about education and careers in health care. Admissions representatives from more than 50 health professions schools in Oregon and across the country will be on campus to speak with students. Students can visit any school’s table to pick up informational materials and speak with admissions representatives. The event is free and will take place on Tuesday, April 23, 10am-2pm in the MU Ballroom. No registration is required. Nutrition and Dietetics Club
The Nutrition & Dietetics Club is a student run organization on the Oregon State University campus. The club provides students interested in nutrition opportunities to: learn more about a career in dietetics, volunteer in the community, and educate the public about better health and nutrition. The purpose is to provide a framework for meaningful student involvement and to stimulate interest in the profession of dietetics.
