Global Opportunities Fair
Join the Office of Global Opportunities, campus colleagues, and partner representatives during the OSU GO’s annual Global Opportunities Fair! This is a great opportunity for students to learn about various study abroad programs such as faculty-led programs, global internships, and student exchanges. The Fair will take place Wednesday, October 16th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm in the SEC Plaza.
Launch-U Speaker Series: From Cubicle to CEO
OSU CPHHS alumni Ellen Yin, the founder of Ellen Yin Media, a boutique social media marketing agency with clientele spanning multi-million dollar brands, Fortune 500 executives, e-commerce startups, and more, is coming to OSU! Learn how Ellen left her 9 to 5 job and built a multiple six figure business by the age 25 on Thursday, October 17, in Austin Hall 100 at 6:00 pm. This is a session that students interested in marketing, public health, and entrepreneurship will not want to miss!
Center for Global Health Seminar
On October 17th from 12-1:30 pm, attend a seminar on Community Health Workers and Maternal/Infant Health in Brazil! This will be located in the Milam Hall Hawthorn Suite, Room 119. Speaker Cari Maes, MA, PhD, will be presenting on her findings in her current book Cradle to Nation: The Politics of Maternal and Infant Health and Nation-building in 20th-century Brazil.
Work Opportunity at the YES House
The Corvallis YES House, a rehabilitation facility for youth, has a part-time job opening for individuals interested in working with youth ages 12 to 18. Shifts start at 2:30 pm and go until 11:30 pm. The job position is a swing TA that observes and documents client behaviors, as well as enforce rules and regulations while maintaining a safe environment for clients. Applicants need to be, or will need to obtain, their Food Handlers certificate and First Aid and CPR certification. For more information email Kennedy Benitez.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Join the Beavers Unite Against Alzheimer’s team, for the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s. This is the worlds’ largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. The annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be Saturday, October 19th, at Timber-Linn Memorial Park in Albany. To donate or learn more, visit the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s web page!
OSU Student Public Health Association
Consider joining the OSU Student Public Health Association! The purpose of the OSU Student Public Health Association is to provide opportunities for education, social connections, professional development, and skill-building related to public health topics for interested students. Undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to join the Student Public Health Association every Wednesday from 4:30-5:30 pm in Waldo 400!
OSU Human Services Resource Center
Did you know OSU has a Human Services Resource Center (HSRC)? This is an amazing resource for students on campus that helps low-income students stay focused on academics. They have various opportunities like, Food Security Programs, Textbook Lending Programs, Temporary Housing, and much more! You can find the HSRC on the edge of campus at Champinefu Lodge, 1030 SW Madison Ave.
