Happy Week Five!

If your midterms are getting you down, some great pick-me-ups are: petting kittens or puppies, playing mini-golf (it’s like golf, but fun), and as always, looking over the great opportunities the College of Public Health and Human Sciences is offering this week.   • Feb. 15: Deadline for CPHHS Undergraduate Scholarship Application
  • Feb. 24 at 5pm: Last day to change to or from S/U Grading.
  • Feb. 24 at 11:55pm: Last day to withdraw from a course by Web, W grade entered on transcript.

Study Abroad:

  • Uganda: Join the College of Business, June 19-July 21 in Uganda and work alongside social entrepreneurs developing locally-focused, solutions-oriented methods of empowering local communities, while earning Social Entrepreneurship credit (BA 362, BA 199, or BA 407). Job Opportunities:

  • KidSpirit Summer Youth Camp is looking for head instructors and camp counselors for summer 2017. KidSpirit is looking for students who want to make a positive impact in the lives of children grades K-8. KidSpirit is hiring camp counselors, office administration, marketing staff, and head instructor positions in sports, art, theater, science, archery, gymnastics, and cooking.   • ABC House is currently looking for a Development Assistant. This position is primarily fundraising, database management, and grant writing; it is a great opportunity for a young professional looking to start a career in a non-profit setting. Volunteer Opportunity:

Immerse yourself in Peru’s culture, while also developing new skills by working on diverse projects in undeserved communities with the IChange Peru organization this summer 2017.  In the health and medical program, volunteers are placed in government low-income hospitals, clinics, or care facilities. Volunteers will shadow healthcare professionals to experience the daily practice of medicine in Peru. Based on experience and level of education,volunteers may assist doctors or nurses in medical procedures under their supervision. Application deadline is April 3. Scholarship Opportunity:

The OSU Folk Club Thrift Shop Scholarship Committee is accepting applications from non-traditional women students who are U.S. citizens and residents of Benton County, Linn County, Monmouth, or Independence in Polk County, age 30 or older, who will be attending OSU full-time or part-time in 2017-2018, while pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or professional degree. Principal criteria are financial need and merit. The deadline for filing applications is March 27.
