The Labor Project

at the Department of Special Collections and University Archives at the University of Oregon acts as a portal for researchers to access the documentary history of labor in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

The Seattle Civil Rights and Labor History Project

is based at the University of Washington. It represents a unique collaboration involving community groups, UW faculty, and both undergraduate and graduate students. Funding for the project has been provided by the Simpson Center for the Humanities, the Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies, the Center for the Study of the Pacific Northwest, and the following University of Washington offices: the Office of Undergraduate Education, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Office of the Provost. In addition we gratefully acknowledge support from 4Culture/King County Lodging Tax Fund.

the Anarres Project

Inspired by the speculative fiction of Oregon writer Ursula K. LeGuin, is a forum for conversations, ideas, and initiatives that promote a future free of domination, exploitation, oppression, war, and empire. It seeks to bring together activists, authors, and scholars from the arts, humanities, and social and natural sciences who are writing, thinking, and teaching about themes explored in Le Guin’s work including: gender, racial and sexual justice, ecological sustainability, bioregionalism, left libertarian / anarchist traditions, utopias & dystopias, alternatives to war & empire, and cooperative economic arrangements.
