{"id":67,"date":"2012-02-07T21:23:16","date_gmt":"2012-02-08T05:23:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/modifiedketogenicdietforepilepsy\/?p=67"},"modified":"2012-02-07T21:23:16","modified_gmt":"2012-02-08T05:23:16","slug":"nora-update-for-feb-3-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.blogs.oregonstate.edu\/oregonketokids\/2012\/02\/07\/nora-update-for-feb-3-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Nora update for Feb. 3, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Nora is doing well. \u00a0Ever since we shifted to a 3:1 ketogenic  diet  about 4 weeks ago, Nora has been almost seizure free. \u00a0This is a   remarkable improvement.<\/p>\n<p>We are still waiting for the results of the SCN1A gene mutation testing. \u00a0Hopefully we will get that soon.<\/p>\n<p>There is still much uncertainty. \u00a0We don\u2019t know what will happen   next. \u00a0In the best case, Nora will continue to develop normally, the   diet will continue to control her seizures, and in two or three years we   can try to ease her onto a more \u201cnormal\u201d diet. \u00a0There can (and likely   will) still be some setbacks and bumps in the road along the way, but  so  far her intelligence and normal development suggest we have a good   chance of a good outcome.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_74\" style=\"width: 911px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/oregonketokids\/files\/2012\/02\/Screen-Shot-2012-02-03-at-10.27.52-PM.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-74\" class=\"size-full wp-image-74\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/oregonketokids\/files\/2012\/02\/Screen-Shot-2012-02-03-at-10.27.52-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"901\" height=\"611\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-74\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Myclonic seizure count per day after starting diet treatment (approx.
