MAVIN, a Yiddish word meaning “one who understands” is committed to a society that recognizes the complexity of race, racism, and identity. The MAVIN Foundation builds healthier communities by providing educational resources about multiracial experiences. Started in the 1998 by a student at Wesleyan University, MAVIN began as a magazine dedicated to the “mixed racial experience”. Today, MAVIN strives to develop and partner with programs to redefine diversity and bring awareness to the multiracial experience.
