The MAVIN Foundation

MAVIN, a Yiddish word meaning “one who understands” is committed to a society that recognizes the complexity of race, racism, and identity. The MAVIN Foundation builds healthier communities by providing educational resources about multiracial experiences. Started in the 1998 by a student at Wesleyan University, MAVIN began as a magazine dedicated to the “mixed racial experience”. Today, MAVIN strives to develop and partner with programs to redefine diversity and bring awareness to the multiracial experience. Check out two of their current programs: The Importance of Being Seen and Loving Day.
