Biological
There is no real difference biologically in the products that are created for men compared to the products that are created for women. The main difference between the two is how the bottle is labeled and the scent of the product. Throughout the years men and women both have had the need to clean their hair. This product was created out of necessity. Although the product is marketed to both men and women in a different way the product is used the same way by both men and women. (Young 2013)
Social
There have been slight changes in society due to this product, however there are so many options out there for the use of shampoo now that it is really up to the individual on what their preference is on how and when to use shampoo. (Efargo 2007) There is a reflection on how well a society is doing that can be measured by how many individuals are using shampoo and how often. Social class in several countries are based on the use of this product along with other personal hygiene products. (Patnaik 2010)
Cultural
The influence that is had on shampoo by culture is linked to the cultures cleansing routines. There are some cultures that believe in showering and washing your hair daily and then there are other cultures that believe bathing is only needed one time a month. The diversity of shampoo and the variety of shampoo choices keep with all of the different cultural views. There are ways to impact a culture with a product and one of those is to introduce a specific product to a culture to see if it can become ingrained into the culture. This has happened with Shampoo before. In the Dalit community the use of shampoo went from practically 0% up to 80% when it was introduces to them as a means of hygiene. (Patnaik 2010)
Economic
That ties in as well with the economics of shampoo. This will touch the lives of both men and women. The only thing that will change the economics of this product for the individual is hair length and preference in shampoo and how often it is to be washed. The shampoo market is highly competitive and is not an easy market to get into. There are very large companies out there that very nearly have a monopoly in the shampoo industry. The price of shampoo can range from $1 a bottle all the way up to the $100 range. All in all shampoo is a product that is something that individuals do not like to live without and that will do good for the economy. (UKEssays 2015)
Educational
Education on how to wash your hair is something that is passed down from one generation to another and depends on how your culture looks at washing your hair. How often it is done and what product you use is entirely up to the individual. There is also direction on how to use each particular brand on the bottle of shampoo itself. Surprisingly there is a ton of education out there surrounding shampoo and how to properly shampoo your hair. There are classes and summits that can be attended on how to use shampoo the correct way. There is always new research in how shampoo effects your hair and new techniques in how to use it. (TDLR 2013)
