African American Communities focuses on race relations across social, political, cultural and religious issues. Specific topics covered include racism, discrimination, desegregation, urban renewal and housing, civil rights movements and protests, community integration and artistic expression. Relevant pamphlets, newspapers and periodicals, correspondence, official records, reports and in-depth Oral Histories, thematic Image and 360 Object Galleries reveal the African American experience in such places as Atlanta, Chicago, St. Louis, New York, and towns and cities in North Carolina.

Kanopy is a streaming video resource with a collection of over 26,000 films on every subject imaginable and from leading producers such as Criterion Collection, The Great Courses, New Day Films, HBO California Newsreel, Kino Lorber, PBS, BBC, First Run Features, The Video Project, Media Education Foundation, Documentary Education Resources. Kanopy’s website makes it easy to watch, share and discuss films across campus.

The platform is fully compatible with screen reader technology, and all of Kanopy’s films are closed-captioned and have transcripts available. In addition, Public performance rights are included!!

The China Academic Journals Full-text Database is an extensive Chinese journal database that comprises Science and Technology publications in subject areas such as Mathematics, Physics, Geology, Biology Environmental Science Architecture, and Engineering. Also included are publications focused on Agriculture, Medicine, Literature, History, Philosophy, and Economics. Content dates for some titles span as early as 1951, and much current content is available for many included titles.

On January 16, 2016, ProQuest will be upgrading its systems infrastructure to improve performance, security, and overall reliability.
