OSU Libraries currently has a trial of the full-text versions of America: History & Life and Historical Abstracts. We currently subscription to the index versions of these databases; this trial adds the full-text content of a number of the journals indexed in the databases.

These trials will run through February 28, 2010.

America: History & Life with Full Text: covers the history and culture of the United States and Canada, from prehistory to the present. With indexing for 1,700 journals from 1964 to present. Full-text of nearly 200 journals and 90 books.

Historical Abstracts with Full Text: covers the history of the world (excluding the United States and Canada) from 1450 to the present, including world history, military history, women’s history, history of education, and much more. With indexing for 1,800 journals from 1955-present. Full-text of over 300 journals and 130 books.

ProQuest will be performing infrastructure maintenance on 6th December, 2009. A four (4) hour maintenance window will be required for this maintenance. The window will take place 7:00 PM – 11 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2009. The following electronic resources will be unavailable during this time:

The Encyclopedia of Inland Waters contains over 240 individual articles covering various broad topics including properties of water hydrologic cycles, surface and groundwater hydrology, hydrologic balance, lakes of the world, rivers of the world, light and heat in aquatic ecosystems, hydrodynamics and mixing in rivers, reservoirs, and lakes, biological integration among inland aquatic ecosystems, pollution and remediation, and conservation and management of inland aquatic ecosystems.

OSU Libraries has acquired 3 new electronic book collections from Springer:

These collections join the Computer Science collection acquired earlier this year. Each collection includes titles published between 2005-2009; titles that are part of OSU Libraries’ collection are marked with a green square next to the title.
