On Saturday, June 15, 2013 ProQuest will install new enhancements, features, and databases, to improve the research experience. Highlights from this release include:

  • Faster ebrary e-book discovery
  • Improved search experience for tablet users
  • New custom format options when exporting records to RefWorks

A four (4) hour maintenance window is needed to install these enhancements. The window will take place from Saturday, June 15, at 7:00 PM PST to 11:00 PM PST.  All ProQuest databases will be offline during this time-period.

The eBook Academic Subscription Collection is a growing eBook complement to Academic Search Complete – covering the same broad spectrum of academic subjects with search results integrated on the EBSCOhost platform. There are more titles from the publishers customers say are most important (e.g. Cambridge University Press, ABC-CLIO, Sage). Since the initial release, EBSCO has added a large number of quality titles and over 50 respected publishers, including Taylor & Francis, CRC Press, Columbia University Press, University of California Press, and more.

OATD is a discovery service intended to help put researchers and scholars in touch with the valuable and unique OA content in college and university ETD collections.  It works with each site’s metadata to index only records that are actually ETDs and are freely available online.  In addition to harvested metadata, it includes a growing amount of full text “snippets” and sample images to help guide searchers.
