With cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts for hundreds of periodicals, this resource is an invaluable resource for both the novice and scholar.
Index to Printed Music
With over 425,000 records available for searching, the Index to Printed Music (IPM) provides detailed indexing across a range of categories that span ancient Greek times to the present. It is the only electronic resource for finding individual pieces of music printed in standard scholarly editions, with hundreds of thousands of records of individual music works. The database has received support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
RIPM Index
Published under the auspices of the International Musicological Society and the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres, the RIPM Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals includes exclusive content provided by internationally recognized scholars and editors. It presents a cumulative index to more than 250 printed volumes and nearly 200 periodicals on musical history and culture between published 1766 and 1962.

Accessed through the RIPM Retrospective Index, the Archive is the only extensive collection available online for music periodicals dating from the Early Romantic to the Modern Period. The Archive contains 114 rare journals selected by international specialists, offers an almost daily chronicle of musical activities, and immense possibilities for original research. RIPM Online Archive is a full-text version of journals indexed in RIPM Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals. It is updated with new titles every six months.
