As son of a naturopathic doctor, I have witnessed the power of a preventive lifestyle to transform the health and lives of hundreds of people. To nationally share this extremely good news – how to prevent the preventable – I co-founded The Run: Moving Natural Medicine Forward, and ran 3,000 miles across the United States, at a 30-mile-per-day clip, over four months, to promote a healthier America and to increase the visibility of naturopathic medicine.
After much success from the first run, my brother, Jeremiah Godby, decided to join me. A year later, we both ran The Run: West Coast 2012 for a combined 1,700 miles from the Mexico border to Canada’s border.
After 3,000 miles of following in the footsteps of my father, Dennis Godby, ND (OSU alum ’79) I realized my true passions and the college I wanted to help me reach my goals. After transferring from Portland Community College, I am currently working on an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a specific major of fitness and nutrition in Oregon State University’s College of Public Health and Human Sciences.
After our previous experiences and two years of learning from various professors and fellow classmates, the issue of health across the country is becoming clear. One of my goals is simple: do whatever it takes to leave this planet healthier than I found it. This goal begins and continues with one community at a time, one person at a time.
