Guten Tag,

Hey ers and sies or if your a baby ess hope everything is going good.  Anyways like I said before I am really enjoying this class.  What is really amazing is that I’m from a Spanish heritage and I find it easier to learn German than Spanish.  It seems like a lot of words are similar to English.  Also how long can a German word be since they combine words together.  I think that should be an extra credit thing, (the longest word in German).  We learned about the GEBEN but honestly if you take time to listen to the sentence the changes are right there in front of us.  I have been practicing my alphabet but am still having some issues with some words and whole phrases if any of you guys have any ideas please post.  It maybe that I am trying to say a word letter by letter but any suggestions will help.  Also if anybody is having trouble with the alphabet still try this website http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgXVPNnerSE.  They guys voice isn’t great but the way he setup the letters on the screen is really good.  See you guys in class.

So today we learned how to conjugate sentences and read them as well as write a basic cover letter.  Where to put verbs, front or back.  But besides what we learned today I have to reflect on the overall class.

Ok by this point we should be able to say the German alphabet in our sleep, know the basic colors, count to at least 999, do some math, read dates, say our names and read charts.

Hold on I have to catch my breath.  I have personally never learned a language this fast.  Not even English.  I know I have left out some stuff we learned but my point is that this class the way is taught is amazing.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I am learning fast because I am enjoying the class because how it is setup toward the STEM degrees.  Why hasn’t anyone else try this with other classes or done this before with language.

Ok sorry about the rant.  Anyways see you guys Thursday.

Honestly I would like to learn sentences in German but that might be to much because I have never been good at foreign language.  I believe If I can start at doing good phrases but also doing decent in sentences.  Vocabulary wise I would like to know basics in my field plus the basics.  I would like to learn everything else in the 1-5 but realistic

I would like to change my evaluation: Learning blog 10%, Textbook wiki 40%, Daily check-in project work and presentation 20%, and Work Portfolio self evaluation 30%.

For me to be successful i have learned that i sometimes do need a kick in the rear end plus I do learn well with examples and some guidance on which direction to go.
