Having a passion for public health and an intriguing attitude to further research more about health and wellness, I believe Physical Therapy is the right field for me. In Physical Therapy, there can be many settings of work. For example, one could work in a private practice seeing repeated patients or in a hospital seeing new faces each day. Personally, the freedom to create my work schedule and build more positive relationships with my patients for one ultimate goal, is my desire. Which coincide with the values of Therapeutic Associates Physical Therapy in Beaverton, OR. They are a medium sized franchise in a more urban setting of Portland, OR. Therapeutic Associates is more of a hierarchical organization since it is a franchise. The hierarchical structure within the business allows easy future planning and day-to-day assignments to be communicated to employees. One down side to this type of business organization is that it limits employees the freedom of collaborating ideas for the benefit of the company’s success. Therapeutic Associates in Beaverton, OR work as a team overall but address patient care with one on one attention. Making certain, each patient gets all the help they need in their recovery process. The corporate culture at Therapeutic Associates is formally structured all around.  They desire an employee’s wardrobe to be slightly business casual and assist patients in the most positive and up-beat manor using polite linguistics. The work setting is completely inside with a focus on the rehabilitation of their patients. Therapeutic Associates is somewhat similar to a hospital setting in that there’s a waiting area with a secretary, but offers individual rooms with specific Physical Therapy equipment for patient rehabilitation. The office is located in my hometown of Beaverton OR providing a location within 30 minutes of downtown Portland, 1:30 hours away from the beach, and 2 hours away from Mt. Hood. With traffic and the cost of living increasing each year at least the mild climate of the Northwest makes up for it, in my opinion.

In 1952, Jim Mckillip, PT and Robert Dicus, PT became partners and formed the first Therapeutic Associates Inc. clinic in Van Nuys, CA. One of the first private practices in the country at this time. With ruffly 60 years of experience in the field of Physical Therapy, they have advanced, refined, and tweaked various skills to establish and evolve the best patient care.
