Fun Stuff Happening At the Office

#FSHAO … f'sh@o

Let’s take a (spooky) walk!

November 6th, 2013

On November 8 (Friday), take the Corvallis Haunted Walking Tour!
We are excited to get a group together for this fun and historic tour!

The cost is $18, but if we have a group of at least 10 people, they will knock $3.00 off each of our tickets.

The tour starts at 7:00 p.m., so for those interested: we could go to dinner beforehand and then go together to the tour meeting place (Francesco’s Gelato). So far we have a group of four attending, and would love to have you join us!

Please RSVP to Melissa Whitney by Monday, November 4! The website is SpiritExpeditions.com. From there you can mouse over “Walking Tours” and then click on the “Corvallis Haunted History Tour.”

On October 31 (Thursday), dress up and bring your favorite pumpkin treat to share!
Witches? Mummies? Ghosts?
Muffins? Scones? Cookies?
We love them all!!!
Between 9:00 and 10:00 on Halloween, come down to the 3rd floor staff lounge. Wear a costume if you’d like! Stop by for a morning treat and share your favorite fall recipes. Also, why not bring some spare change and vote on costumes while you’re there? Money that is donated will help fund the F’SH@O budget to take new employees out for coffee, have yummy pizza fundraisers, and more.

For more info: The website is SpiritExpeditions.com. From there you can mouse over “Walking Tours” and then click on the “Corvallis Haunted History Tour.”
A tour holds up to 20 people. It costs $18 for adults, or $12 for kids 12 and under. (maybe these are the in person prices? their booking website notes $20 for adults).

anywho. HALLOWEEN! fun.
If you have any other suggestions for local Halloween activities (notable haunted houses? other events?), please post below.

It takes place at the historic Whiteside Theatre.
EESC’s very own Jeff Hino will be providing the musical entertainment. And there’s wine. And food.

Pizza Party

September 20th, 2013

message delivery:

Extended Campus crew, stop by the 3rd floor staff room on Friday the 20th [TODAY!], any time from noon to 1 PM!

The “Fun Stuff Happening Around the Office” (FSHAO) group is bringing pizza for lunch. Come by the third floor to have a slice of pizza during your lunch break – $1 per slice. Dollars go to fund future treats and events like pizza lunches, welcome breaks for new employees, and other fun stuff happening around the office. If you don’t eat pizza, feel free to swing by with your lunch and come to say hello to colleagues you might not see as often.

If you have any suggestions for fun stuff you would like us to help coordinate, let us know at the pizza lunch or send a suggestion on to a member of the FSHAO group. Check out our blog [YOU ARE DOING THIS RIGHT NOW!]

Getting Started…

August 7th, 2013

Sarah, Amy, Warren, Celina, Elizabeth and Melissa met a couple hours ago to shape and form this group. committee? gang? theoretical conceptual model? club? CULT?!!?

We all agreed that Social Affairs Committee wasn’t going to work as a name. It implies illicit affairs, and rigid bureaucratic committee rules. “Fun Club” was batted around a bit (the first rule of Fun Club is that you should totally talk about fun club), before we settled on “Fun Stuff Here At the Office. or FSHAO for short. pronounced “feh-shah’Ow”. Which will also likely be our twitter hashtag. when we all decide it’s worth signing up for twitter. either #fshao or #fsh@o, it is not yet clear.

It was clearly decided that some organizers in this group will not be using the word “tweet” to describe what they’re doing, at any point in the near or distant future.

It was decided that a web page might be useful, which is what you are reading right now. (META!)

A lot of other stuff was decided, which is too awesome to even type up here in the first blog post. We ran out of time, and decided to meet again on the second wednesday of each month, at 10am, until we didn’t need to meet that often anymore.

If you’d like to jump in and help us organize, just drop any one of us a line.
