The Summer BBQ was a Success! :D
August 4th, 2014Thank you so much to everyone who attended the Summer BBQ and Picnic. It was a fun, relaxing, and a wonderful chance to get to know members of the team better.
I’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone who attended. The food that was brought was incredible. It is because of the wonderful folks who attended that this even was so successful.

Movies and Music at Monteith Park
June 10th, 2014Part of FSH@O’s mission is to not only provide opportunities to do fun things around the office, but outside of it as well! This summer Albany will be presenting Movies at Monteith from the Monteith Riverfront Park!!! They have a new sound system and a giant inflatable screen, 24 ft. wide by 20 ft. high. Concessions are available and the movies start a little after dusk (8:57 to 8:17 depending on date). A few of us were thinking it would be fun to attend one of the movies they will be presenting. If anyone has a preference, let me know! I’m leaning towards ET on August 1.
Here is the movie lineup for the 2014 season:
• July 11-”Frozen”, the incredibly popular animated Disney feature.
• July 18-”North by Northwest”, an Alfred Hitchcock suspense classic starring Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint.
• July 25-”The Lego Movie”, another insanely popular animated family film.
• August 1-”ET”, the winner of our viewer’s choice contest on our facebook page!
• August 15-”The Wizard of Oz”, hold onto your ruby slippers movie fans because 2014 is the 75th Anniversary of this much beloved classic.
Another fun activity taking place in Albany is the River Rythms concert series which are also held at Monteith Park. Here is the concert line up:
• July 3 – John Nèmeth with the Bo Keys, featuring Percy Wiggins
• July 10 – Patrick Lamb
• July 24 – Trick Pony
• July 31 – Night Ranger
• August 7 – Uncle Kracker
If you are interested in participating in any of these events, definitely give us a shout. We will also update the FSH@O blog if people are attending any of the above events to extend an invite to all those who would like to join us in some summer fun!

Monthly lunchtime walks (health!)
February 19th, 2014Passing along this note:
The PEBB Healthy Team plans to host monthly lunchtime walks. For this first one, we will trek out to the covered bridge and back (approx. 2.5 miles round trip). We may get lucky enough to see deer, coyotes, or eagles along the way! The speedier walkers may have time to go past the bridge a bit to check out the alpacas.
We will meet at the Valley Library loading dock at 12:05 p.m. This is not a race, so we expect it to take around 45 – 50 minutes.
In case of rain, we will join the Walking Wednesdays group and walk around Dixon’s indoor track. You do not have to be a member of Dixon to participate in Walking Wednesdays.

Cookie Decorating and Crafts – Friday February 14
February 12th, 2014This Friday FSH@O is sponsoring cookie decorating and crafts from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm in the 3rd floor staff lounge.
Different FSH@O employees will cover different times, so please feel free to stop by for just 10 to 30 minutes of your lunch time.
We will be providing some cookies and frosting as well as paper and markers, but would love it if you brought your own supplies as well.

HTHU: Healthy Food Potluck

The Thursday afternoon group of OSU Extended Campus ‘Healthy Team Healthy U’ invites you to join us for a healthy potluck. This is a social get together but we are happy to answer any questions you might have about what we have been talking about for the past several months and what we are doing as part of the HTHU challenge.
We invite you to bring a healthy dish to share. We plan to consolidate the recipes into a HTHU notebook, so please bring your recipe to display with your dish. Nutritional information is a plus. Include your name so you can get credit for your good eats.
