But some opportunities are too good to miss. Such is the case with the upcoming Seneca Jones Timber Company Industry Tour.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut why should I make time to attend?\u201d you ask? Here are a few (but by no means all) of the reasons why you should consider RSVP\u2019ing for this day-trip:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ask industry leaders about their company \u2013 go ahead, they want to answer all of your questions.<\/li>\n<li>experience the community and environment of the company \u2013 as you walk around you will get a sense of what the atmosphere is like.<\/li>\n<li>see the facilities \u2013 this guided tour will be in depth!<\/li>\n<li>determine what a normal day on the job looks like \u2013 is it similar to what you\u2019ve been talking about in class?<\/li>\n<li>professional development growth \u2013 this is self-explanatory but chatting with and touring Seneca Jones will provide you an important professional experience.<\/li>\n<li>gain experience interacting with professionals \u2013 listening and chatting with the Seneca tour guides will be good practice talking with industry leaders!<\/li>\n<li>networking \u2013 gain contacts for when you are looking for a job, like the saying goes, \u201cit\u2019s all about who you know\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<li>find a job or internship \u2013 there might be an opportunity to secure a seasonal or internship position.<\/li>\n<li>learn more about what you want from a career \u2013 or what you don\u2019t.<\/li>\n<li>engage with other COF students \u2013 maybe you\u2019ll meet someone new.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/senecasawmill.com\/seneca-sawmills\/\">The Seneca Sawmill Company is one of the largest producing single-location sawmills in the United States. Their mills are capable of producing over 650 million board feet per year of premium grade green and dry Douglas-Fir dimension lumber and studs, and dry Hem-fir studs. Seneca\u2019s goal is to produce the best lumber available, while consuming less raw material than any other sawmill in the world.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Join other COF students on the Seneca Jones Timber Company Industry Tour on\u00a0<strong>Tuesday, February 13th from 12-5pm<\/strong>.\u00a0 There is limited space therefore RSVP is required.
