This is happening through the EESC web team\u2019s:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One-on-one <a href=\"https:\/\/osueesc.atlassian.net\/servicedesk\/customer\/portal\/2\">help desk<\/a> or arranged meetings<\/li>\n<li>Webinars (next one: <a href=\"https:\/\/oregonstate.webex.com\/mw3300\/mywebex\/default.do?nomenu=true&amp;siteurl=oregonstate&amp;service=6&amp;rnd=0.3289268937396804&amp;main_url=https%3A%2F%2Foregonstate.webex.com%2Fec3300%2Feventcenter%2Fevent%2FeventAction.do%3FtheAction%3Ddetail%26%26%26EMK%3D4832534b00000004afc77860de7adb1451d0a76128b14fdd82af37d5949e7e4df7c1b0380af33923%26siteurl%3Doregonstate%26confViewID%3D96934211939740593%26encryptTicket%3DSDJTSwAAAASdZjLHi7ItP0knNR2GsGml2-m7sTpw3YMNdJ0eyGYRkw2%26\">June 12, 9:30 \u2013 10:30 am<\/a>) and their <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/extensionweb\/learn\/training\/\">recordings<\/a><\/li>\n<li>How-to videos such as this <a href=\"https:\/\/media.oregonstate.edu\/media\/t\/0_669l5vt5\">new 10-minute video on how to search for gardening content<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>A few quick pieces of information that everyone entering content should know:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When adding content, it defaults to <strong>published<\/strong>. If you want to save it as a \u201cdraft\u201d or \u201cfor review\u201d in the unpublished state, there is now a drop-down field or checkbox above the Save button.<\/li>\n<li>Content teams need to add <strong>\u201cregional\u201d tags<\/strong> and if relevant \u201cMG ___county\u201d program tags in Step 2 of the edit screen, so information that is unique to one area of Oregon can be narrowed down in search results or, if relevant, show up on Master Gardener county pages.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Newsletters<\/strong> are currently added differently depending on the group you are in. Content groups add them as \u201ceducational documents,\u201d program groups as \u201cprogram resources,\u201d and counties as \u201cbutton links\u201d to e-news or <a href=\"https:\/\/oregonstate.account.box.com\/login\">Box<\/a>. We are working on long-term solutions to make adding and displaying newsletters easier and better for everyone. For now, <a href=\"https:\/\/osueesc.atlassian.net\/servicedesk\/customer\/portal\/2\">contact us<\/a> to talk through your newsletter questions and needs, and we\u2019ll help you develop the best short-term approach.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Archive sites<\/strong> can be found by typing \u201carchive\u201d\u00a0in front of the old URL, e.g. https:\/\/archive.extension.oregonstate.edu\/[mycounty]. These will only be available until August 1st,\u00a0so\u00a0content needs to be added on the new site or saved in Box by then.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Photos<\/strong>\u00a0can be uploaded using the thumbnail image\u00a0buttons in your edit screen. Be sure to only upload photos that you have permission to use, or photos from <a href=\"http:\/\/eescmedia.extension.oregonstate.edu:8085\/photoark\/#\/login\">EESC\u2019s Photo Archive<\/a>. Include photos that represent your diverse participants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>We are also making small changes to public views and behind the scenes based on feedback in these initial weeks. Here are updates we are working on over the next few weeks:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exporting Extension events into the <strong>OSU Events calendar<\/strong>, which will need to require the event description, contact name and contact email address fields (look for this change later in the week)<\/li>\n<li>Guiding content teams on best ways to complete <strong>migration of content<\/strong> before August 1 when the archive sites go away<\/li>\n<li>Adding regional tags and keywords to the <strong>EESC gardening stories and news<\/strong> to improve their findability<\/li>\n<li>Investigating and working on <strong>improving website performance<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Improving and providing more instruction\/examples of <strong>how to display or order content<\/strong> in auto-populated sections of the website<\/li>\n<li>Focusing on the <strong>overall design<\/strong> to improve usability, readability, and look\/feel of the web pages<\/li>\n<li>Continuing to monitor <strong>analytics<\/strong> to learn how audiences are using our new site and content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Keep sending us your questions or changes that you see needed through our <a href=\"https:\/\/osueesc.atlassian.net\/servicedesk\/customer\/portal\/2\">Web Support<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>These two weeks since the launch have been a transition period, and we are doing our best to guide you through it.
