Here are some ways to share and ask:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/oregonstate.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_agYMOnRJg1FmpF3\">Online form\u00a0<\/a>to submit questions (Think of this like a virtual comment box.)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/osu-extension.slack.com\/signup\">OSU Extension Slack workspace<\/a>\u00a0or informal communication and collaboration<\/li>\n<li>Read ConnEXTion weekly, and <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/extconnextion\/submit\/\">contribute<\/a>!<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/engage\/\">O&amp;E blog\u00a0<\/a>with First Monday videos (Engage via the comment section!)<\/li>\n<li>Outreach &amp; Engagement Quarterly Conversations (Next: May 17, 2019)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"043019tag2\"><span style=\"color: #c34500\">OSU Extension Professional Development Fund<\/span><\/h3>\n<div class=\"content clearfix\">\n<p><strong>This fund is designed to help faculty and staff gain the knowledge, attitudes, skills and behaviors to enhance Extension education programs and services<em>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The fund is able to support a LOT of opportunities! Everyone is eligible to apply \u2014 as long as they have at least a .25 FTE and the other funding criteria are met!<\/p>\n<h2>Other Funding Criteria<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>At least 50% matching funds available from other sources.<\/li>\n<li>Application submission precedes date of event.<\/li>\n<li>There is no limit to the number of applications accepted from an individual.<\/li>\n<li>A total limit of $1,000 will be awarded to an individual in one calendar year.<\/li>\n<li>Awarded funds must be used within one year of award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Activity also must support one or more of the following five strategic objectives and priorities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improve OSU Extension\u2019s ability to reach culturally diverse audiences.<\/li>\n<li>Enhance faculty members\u2019 proficiency with impact evaluation and reporting.<\/li>\n<li>Increase efficiency and effectiveness of office and program support staff through new and improved practices.<\/li>\n<li>Develop ability to make decisions and positively influence diverse groups and individuals.<\/li>\n<li>Invest in lifelong learning of faculty and staff through undergraduate and advanced degrees<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Apply<\/h2>\n<p>For complete information and application form, see:\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/employee.extension.oregonstate.edu\/professional-development\/professional-development-fund\">OSU Extension Professional Development Fund<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"content clearfix\">\u201cGrowing the Fund\u201d<\/h2>\n<div class=\"content clearfix\">\n<p>Extension faculty and staff may help <em>\u201cGROW the Fund\u201d <\/em>at any time during the year.<br \/>\nKeep the following in mind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The principal of the OSU Extension Professional Development Fund is an endowment.<\/li>\n<li>Earnings from the endowment feed into the <em>current-use-fund.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Each quarter, the amount in the <em>current-use-fund <\/em>pays for the professional development requests selected for funding.<\/li>\n<li>The fund supports on average, about 100-160 different professional development opportunities a year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ways individuals may currently contribute throughout the year are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Through payroll deduction (deductions could range from $5.00 a month to any larger amount).<\/li>\n<li>Through individual contributions (payable by check or credit\/debit card).<\/li>\n<li>Either of these types of contributions may be processed on-line through the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.osufoundation.org\/s\/359\/foundation\/index.aspx?sid=359&amp;gid=34&amp;pgid=4353\">OSU Foundation<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>As you complete the on-line process, be sure to designate contributions to the following fund.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>6220-820450 OSU Extension Professional Development Fund (Endowment Fund)<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"043019tag3\"><span style=\"color: #c34500\">October 15, 2019 \u2014 Application Deadline for the Following Programs\/Awards<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Oregon State University Extension Association (OSUEA) website is now updated related to all of the following programs\/awards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Search for Excellence Program<\/li>\n<li>OSUEA Cooperator Awards Program<\/li>\n<li>ESP Friend of Extension Program<\/li>\n<li>Alberta Johnston Awards Program<\/li>\n<li>Hoecker Extension Innovative and Replication Grants Program<\/li>\n<li>Oscar Hagg Extension Communications Award<\/li>\n<li>OSUEA Staff Awards Program (this includes):<\/li>\n<li>Newer Faculty Awards<\/li>\n<li>Experienced Faculty Awards<\/li>\n<li>Classified Staff Awards<\/li>\n<li>Educational Program Assistant Awards<\/li>\n<li>Professional Faculty (administrative) Awards<\/li>\n<li>Team Award<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"043019tag4\"><span style=\"color: #c34500\">Extension Web Update<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/extensionweb\/2019\/04\/30\/topic-page-statistics\/\">Topic page statistics<\/a>: Using topic pages and tags helps website visitors find educational content.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"043019tag5\"><span style=\"color: #c34500\">Diversity Highlights<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><em>Please contact\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"mailto:analu.fonseca@oregonstate.edu\"><em>analu.fonseca@oregonstate.edu<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0with any questions or comments or if you have suggestions for events or news stories to include in Diversity Highlights.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Events &amp; Resources<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2019 Southern Oregon LGBTQ+ Health and Wellness Summit: <\/strong>The goal is to improve care for the LGBTQ+ community through reaching out to regional medical and behavioral healthcare providers and improve access to quality services.
