{"id":4607,"date":"2018-01-09T13:00:11","date_gmt":"2018-01-09T20:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/?p=4607"},"modified":"2018-01-09T13:00:11","modified_gmt":"2018-01-09T20:00:11","slug":"money-fun-new-teaching-skills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/2018\/01\/09\/money-fun-new-teaching-skills\/","title":{"rendered":"Money, Fun and New Teaching Skills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>he due date for <strong>proposals<\/strong> for our upcoming spring <strong>Hybrid Faculty Learning Community<\/strong> has been <strong>extended to Monday, January 22<sup>nd<\/sup>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Center for Teaching and Learning will provide <strong>$1,250 in professional development funds<\/strong>to instructors who fully participate in the <strong>Spring Hybrid Faculty Learning Community<\/strong> in Spring 2018 and redesign an established Corvallis campus course as a hybrid course that will be offered for the first time as a hybrid in Summer or Fall 2018 or Winter 2019. If a team develops a course, the $1,250 will be equally split among team members. Preference will be given for large-enrollment Bacc Core courses, though all proposals will be considered.<\/p>\n<p>Hybrid courses designed through the Hybrid Professional Learning Community will <strong>serve on-site students<\/strong>, and adhere to the regular on-campus (not Ecampus) tuition structure. It is anticipated that each new hybrid section will replace an existing fully classroom-based section and be offered at least once a year.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>learning community will blend 5 face-to-face meetings with online activities<\/strong>. Meetings will be Weds., 2:00-3:30 p.m., on Apr. 11 and 25, May 9 and 23, and June 6.
