Departmental Policy on Laboratory Attire and PPE<\/b>
\nAll those working in Dept. of Chemistry laboratories, including undergraduate and graduate\u00a0students, post-doctoral\u00a0associates, instructors, and PI’s, are required to wear clothing\u00a0covering them from shoulders to ankles. Footwear\u00a0must be closed at the toe and heel. Short-\u00a0sleeved shirts & blouses are acceptable, but not shoulder-less garments\u00a0(e.g., tank tops).\u00a0Long pants made of a substantial material are recommended and short trousers or short\u00a0skirts are\u00a0not permitted. PPE as posted must also be worn; for most labs within the\u00a0department this includes safety\u00a0glasses\/goggles (goggles only in teaching labs), gloves, and\u00a0lab coats. Graduate student TA’s working in teaching\u00a0laboratories are asked to be particularly\u00a0mindful of this policy and to follow it themselves and to apply it consistently\u00a0to undergraduate\u00a0students in their assigned sections.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
