{"id":1138,"date":"2013-05-06T07:31:33","date_gmt":"2013-05-06T15:31:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/?p=1138"},"modified":"2013-05-06T07:31:33","modified_gmt":"2013-05-06T15:31:33","slug":"wagsumi-innovation-in-technology-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.blogs.oregonstate.edu\/erlenmeyer\/2013\/05\/06\/wagsumi-innovation-in-technology-award\/","title":{"rendered":"WAGS\/UMI Innovation in Technology Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Graduate School invites your program\u2019s participation in a campus-based competition for selection of OSU\u2019s nominee for the\u00a0<b>2013-14 WAGS\/UMI Innovation in Technology Award<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>This award recognizes distinguished scholarly achievement at the master\u2019s thesis or doctoral dissertation level for the development of an innovative technology and its utilization for the creative solution of a major problem.\u00a0 A nominee must have earned the master\u2019s or doctoral degree within the period of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This prestigious regional competition is an important opportunity for OSU to showcase technological innovation and creativity by our graduate students to institutions throughout the western region and to celebrate our success. We encourage you to take the time to prepare a nomination.<\/p>\n<p><b>OSU AWARDS AND RECOGNITION:<\/b>\u00a0 The\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Graduate School will provide a cash award of $500 to the student<\/span>\u00a0selected as OSU\u2019s nominee for the Western Association of Graduate Schools\/UMI Innovation in Technology Award.\u00a0 In addition,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">the Graduate School will award $500 to the graduate department\/program<\/span>\u00a0that submits the thesis selected as OSU\u2019s nominee for the Western Association of Graduate Schools\/UMI Innovation in Technology Award.<\/p>\n<p><b>PROCEDURES:<\/b>\u00a0 Each graduate program may submit\u00a0<i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">only one nomination<\/span><\/i><b>\u00a0<\/b>for consideration. Graduate programs must provide\u00a0<b>in one electronic PDF file items b, c and d\u00a0<\/b>as reflected in the attached WAGS\/UMI guidelines.
