Faculty Positions in Chemistry – Soft Materials – Colorado State University
The Department of Chemistry at Colorado State University, located in Fort Collins, CO, seeks to hire at least one tenure-track faculty member. While exceptional candidates from all areas of chemical science are encouraged to apply, those with research interests in soft materials are of particular interest.*
We aim to fill this position at the Assistant Professor level, but will consider exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor rank. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and be capable of outstanding teaching, scholarship, and research. Postdoctoral experience is highly desirable. FAculty Position in Synthetic Macromolecular Chemistry – Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech remains committed to its internationally recognized interdisciplinary program in macromolecular
science and engineering with the announcement of an Assistant Professor position in
the Department of Chemistry on our main campus in Blacksburg, Virginia. This position signifies
a continued University commitment to the importance of the science and engineering of polymeric
materials to help solve major societal challenges in energy, the environment, and medicine. The
successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the University-wide Macromolecules
Innovation Institute (MII) (see www.mii.vt.edu), which has the mission of building interdisciplinary
research and education collaborations across campus. The candidate will have access to the newly
formed Macromolecular Materials Discovery Center in our Institute for Critical Technology and Applied
Science (ICTAS).
The Department of Chemistry particularly invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the
Assistant Professor level in synthetic polymer chemistry (TR0160080). Candidates with an emphasis
on synthesis and properties of macromolecules, supramolecular chemistry, responsive hierarchical
macromolecular structures, and the design of polymeric materials for nanomedicine, energy and the
environment, are particularly encouraged to apply. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field is
required; the degree is required at the time of appointment. The successful candidate must establish an
internationally recognized research program and be an effective teacher in graduate and undergraduate

The Chemistry Department at Humboldt State University, Arcata, CA is currently conducting a tenure-line faculty search for positions in Physical Chemistry and in Biochemistry, beginning August 2017. The position requires a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry or Biochemistry or closely-related field from an accredited college or university at the time of appointment. Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, Department of Chemistry
Ball State University’s Department of Chemistry is inviting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the area of biochemistry, available August 18, 2017.
Major responsibilities: Develop an externally-funded research program that complements the department’s existing research, which involves undergraduate and graduate students. Teach 10-15 contact hours (8-12 credit hours) of chemistry courses each academic term, depending on released time for scholarly activity. Teaching assignments will include undergraduate and graduate level courses in biochemistry as well as general chemistry.
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or closely related area from an accredited college or university at the time of application; postdoctoral research experience or equivalent; evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and in research.
Preferred qualifications: Teaching experience at the collegiate level, e.g. teaching assistant, instructor, Assistant Professor; research interests that focus on an area which enhances the department’s existing research programs.
