The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation has invited OSU to submit up to 2 nominees as candidates for the Moore Inventor Fellowship. The focus of the fellowship is on early stage invention that will “create new tools, technologies, processes, or approaches with a high potential to accelerate progress in the foundation’s three main areas of interest: scientific research, environmental conservation and patient care.” This is a great opportunity for an early-career inventor at OSU, with the fellowship providing $600,000 to the fellow and $75,000 to OSU for administrative overhead over 3 years. In addition, GBMF requires that OSU commit $150,000 ($50,000 per year for 3 years) to support the fellow’s research.
