As Chair of the Department of Chemistry at Portland State University (PSU), I am writing to request your assistance in identifying any graduates or affiliates of your department who may be interested in a full-time lecturer position in Organic Chemistry at PSU beginning September 2018.
We seek an exceptional educator who will contribute to the tradition of high-quality teaching in the Department. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the Organic Chemistry faculty in the development of curriculum, teach one of the large enrollment sections of sophomore Organic Chemistry (125 – 400 students), coordinate and oversee the Organic Chemistry teaching laboratories and graduate student TAs, and manage the course workshops. Several major interdisciplinary grants are in place to provide an infrastructure to support this research, which contributes to a dynamic environment in which to work.The position requires a Ph.D. in Chemistry and relevant teaching experience.
