Visiting position in Biochemistry and General Chemistry at Reed College. The Chemistry Department invites applications for a three-semester, visiting position, preferably at the assistant professor level beginning January 2017. Teaching responsibilities will include participation in a team-taught general chemistry course in Spring 2017, and one semester of general chemistry and one semester of biochemistry, possibly with lab, in the 2017-18 academic year. A PhD is required and postdoctoral experience is preferred. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and research. Teaching duties will include general chemistry and a junior-level course in biochemistry, possibly including laboratory. The successful candidate will also advise senior thesis students in yearlong research projects.  The Chemistry Department has excellent resources for innovative teaching and research, including dedicated faculty research labs, a 400 MHz NMR, LC-MS, and a molecular modeling computer laboratory.
