NPIC is welcoming two new team members to join our group this June! Spanish fluency is only required for one of the two available positions.
NPIC provides objective, science-based information about pesticides and pesticide-related topics to enable people to make informed decisions. Did you know disinfectants, bug repellents, and many pet flea treatments are pesticides? Not familiar with pesticides? Learn more! http://npic.orst.edu/
As a Pesticide Specialist, you’ll dig into the science to answer technical questions for both the general public and professionals about pesticide risk and related topics. You’ll also develop scientific educational resources like fact sheets, videos, infographics or other publications. This is your opportunity to hone your skills as a science communicator!
Minimum requirements include a B.S. degree in toxicology, environmental science/chemistry, biotechnology, agricultural sciences, public health, biology, soil science, microbiology, environmental science, or closely related scientific area (degree must include coursework in biochemistry, physiology, or equivalent).
